34 suspected Yahoo boys held in Ibadan, Lagos raids

The Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee (EFCC) has arrested 34 suspected web fraudsters popularly referred to as Yahoo boys in Ibadan and Lagos, spokesman Wilson Uwujaren mentioned on Thursday Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The Ibadan Zonal Workplace of the Fee arrested 24 of the suspects, whereas the remaining 10 had been apprehended by the Lagos workplace.

Uwujaren mentioned the suspects had been caught throughout separate operations within the two states.

Uwujaren mentioned that 24 suspects, most of whom claimed to be undergraduates, had been apprehended yesterday at their hideout within the Apete space of Ibadan.

He mentioned the early morning raid adopted actionable intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet-related crimes.

Uwujaren mentioned the fee recovered priceless gadgets together with 4 unique automobiles, cell phones, laptops, SIM playing cards and a number of other incriminating paperwork.

He mentioned the ten suspects arrested in Lagos had been apprehended at Horizon II Property, Meadow Corridor Method, Lekki, Lagos, following credible data on their alleged prison actions.

He mentioned the suspects had been concerned in romance and jobs scams, in addition to id theft and buy of malicious instruments to compromise company e mail accounts.

Uwujaren mentioned that among the many gadgets recovered from the suspects in Lagos had been cell phones and laptop computer computer systems.

He mentioned the suspects  volunteered statements to the fee and can be charged to court docket as quickly as investigations had been concluded.
