The first batch of a computer training programme organised by Kaga local government area of Borno state for students from the area have been certified to be literate in basic computer applications.
The 23 students who graduated received their certificates at a presentation ceremony which took place at Benisheikh, the headquarters of the Local Government.
Kanem Trust gathered that about 100 students more would make the second batch of the scholarship beneficiaries to study in tertiary institutions of learning in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.
The State Assembly member representing the area, Mustapha Alibe, appealed to the state government to construct a computer hall in the town even as he commended the computer academic staff for their commitment.
One set of photocopier machine was also donated to the Local Government by Alhaji Mustapha Bukar of Ramat Polytechnic, Maiduguri.
