A Mobile Courtroom has sentenced a fake soldier arrested by operatives of the Lagos State Environmental and Specific Offences (Enforcement) Unit (Taskforce) for assault and impersonation to six weeks imprisonment.
Chairman of the Taskforce, Shola Jejeloye, a Chief Superintendent (CSP), acknowledged the convicted fake soldier was apprehended on Friday evening collectively along with his industrial bike painted in camouflage after assaulting members of the corporate with totally different miscreants at Airport Bus-stop on Lagos-Abeokuta Categorical-way.
He acknowledged operatives of the corporate had been coming from a monitoring and enforcement operations with over 150 impounded bikes loaded into three autos sooner than the fake soldier, whose industrial bike was amongst these impounded on restricted routes, mobilised totally different miscreants and attacked the group with stones, bottles and iron-rod.
“The fake Soldier was subsequently arrested after the assault and thru investigations at our office it was discovered that he was an impersonator.
“The individual later confessed to having solely claimed to be a soldier as a approach to retrieve his impounded industrial bike and that he painted his bike with Nigerian Navy camouflage to evade arrest from security brokers whereas partaking in industrial actions on restricted routes,” Jejeloye acknowledged.
He urged members of most people to stop impersonating security brokers to commit crimes as anyone caught could be dealt with in accordance with the regulation.
The chairman confirmed that the arraignment of the fake Soldier on the Lagos Mobile Courtroom was in compliance with the directive of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police (CP) Hakeem Odumosu.
