The Federal Govt Council (FEC) on Wednrsay permitted varied contracts value over N30.77 billion for initiatives in 5 ministries.
The ministers, whose ministries received the approvals, introduced this to State Home correspondents after the week’s digital FEC assembly presided over by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) on the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The ministers who addressed reporters included Alhaji Lai Mohammed (Data and Tradition); Mamman Saleh (Energy); Senator Hadi Sirika (Aviation); Mrs. Zainab Ahmed (Finance, Price range and Nationwide Planning) and Mallam Mohammed Bello (Federal Capital Territory, FCT).
Saleh stated his ministry offered two memoranda containing N10,730,393,742 contracts, which had been permitted.
“One: It permitted the cost of the claims and the variation of onshore and offshore price of present contract for the development of 1×1 50 MBA three 31, 32, 33 KV sub-stations at Damaturu and 1×330 KV land by extension at Gombi in favour Msssr Kadlak Worldwide Restricted for $1,621,423.88 plus N102,905,606.7.
“The opposite one is the approval of the contract for the design, manufacturing and provide of 4 fabricated sub-stations of two×100 MBA 132 33 KV energy transformers with full equipment for deployment to Damaturu, Potiskum, Biu, and Maiduguri for the Transmission Firm of Nigeria (TCN) in favour of Msssr Kidon T Good Electrical Firm Restricted and Incomtel Engineering Restricted at $24,387,850.22 plus N1,475,204,584.34. Altogether, it’s N10,730,393,742.82,” he stated.
Sirika stated the Council okayed N10,594,057,618.20, inclusive of VAT 7.5 per cent, for the availability of Airport Administration Answer for the worldwide airports of Abuja, Lagos and Kano, Port Harcourt and Enugu. It awarded the contract to Messrs Arlington Securities Nigeria Restricted, for the completion interval in 12 months.
Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi, who was represented by Mohammed, stated he offered 5 memoranda to Council, all of which had been permitted.
Based on him, the 5 memoranda, which touched on the rail and maritime sectors of the ministry’s purview, received contracts for N7.038 billion.
“The third memo is one searching for Council’s approval for the award of contract for the design, manufacturing, testing and commissioning of two energy automobiles for use on the slender gauge by the Nigerian Railway Company (NRC) in favour of CRC Niginc Pozen Restricted, at N1.662 billion.
“There’s one other memo by the Minister of Transportation, which sought Council’s approval for the award of contract for the elimination of wrecks on Badagry Creek from Tincan Island to Navy City in Lagos State in favour of Messrs Humba Marines Works Nigeria Restricted at N3,587,955,266.40 and it’s presupposed to be accomplished inside 25 months.”
