The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has disclosed that it would soon announce the dates for the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination(UTME) and the Mock examination. The board in its In-house Weekly Bulletin, called on the public and the UTME candidates to ignore any dates being circulated about the two examinations.
The Board also revealed that all arrangements had been concluded for the conduct of the Mock examination and the 2019 UTME and urged all candidates to wait for the new dates which will be announced soon. It however, urged candidates to remember that the Mock examination was not used for any assessment as many had started the rumour that the result of the examination will be added to the scores obtained in the main exam. The Board introduced the mock examination, which is optional in 2017 to avail candidates with the opportunity of familiarizing themselves with the conduct of the computerized test, get to know the examination processes and test the facilities at the Computer Based Test(CBT) centers before the main examination.
The exam also gives candidates who are coming in contact with the computer for the first time, know the basics and also eliminate any phobia that might arise. The Board therefore urged all UTME candidates to guard jealously all their documents pertaining to the UTME and Direct Entry examination. Recall that the Mock examination was slated for February 23, 2019 and had to be cancelled due to the election while the year’s UTME examination was slated for March 16, 2019 and end March 23, 2019.
