A fuel explosion yesterday occurred on the Convention Resort on Presidential Boulevard, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, killing a technician and one other yet-to-be recognized individual.
The explosion, which occurred round midday, left three others with accidents.
The resort is owned by a former governor.
The injured have been hospitalised.
The Resort Facility Supervisor, Tunde Osinubi, confirmed the incident, saying it was regretted.
Osinubu, in an announcement, attributed the reason for the explosion to “a pretend fuel cylinder.”
He stated: “A routine upkeep of the automated revolving door on the entrance of the reception, which concerned the usage of oxyacetylene fuel to weld the door hinges, was being carried out.
“The oxyacetylene fuel cylinder out of the blue exploded, killing the technician and one different individual but to be recognized.
